Description

Walking on the outer shelf of Shark's Cove, I was inspired by Piet Mondrian's masterpiece, Broadway Boogie-Woogie. The top of the reef there is broken into sections, and in some places the sections were roughly rectangular. With the sunset reflecting colors into the sections, the metaphor was complete. After re-viewing the philosophy that informed Mondrian's paintings, however, I concluded that my motivations are quite different from the Neo-plasticism advocated by Mondrian and the other artists involved in the De Stijl movement.
